About
Abby Kindelsperger's research interests include the literacy practices of urban adolescents, as well as the preparation of socially engaged teachers. She holds a PhD from UIC and has over a decade of teaching experience at the secondary and collegiate levels. She is co-author of Reconceptualizing Curriculum, Literacy and Learning for School-age Mothers (Routledge, 2019), as well as a contributing author to Rethinking Sexism, Gender, and Sexuality (Rethinking Schools, 2016). At UIC She teaches English Education methods courses, serves as a field instructor for student teachers, and coordinates the placement of student teachers for the Teaching of English program.
