UIC Ranked Among Top Ten “Best Value” Universities

From UIC Today: The University of Illinois at Chicago is ranked No. 7 on the “Best Values” list — just behind Harvard University — in this year’s Wall Street Journal and Times Higher Education rankings.

UIC also is ranked No. 29 among more than 400 U.S. public universities, according to the 2019 ranking.

For the first time, the rankings have further analyzed the top 250 universities to create a “Best Values” list, which considers overall ranking, tuition, fees, housing, and federal and institutional aid. UIC was listed as No. 7 — ahead of Georgia Institute of Technology, Rutgers and Stanford in the top 10 list.

The WSJ/THE overall rankings are based on 15 factors across four categories: student outcomes, resources, engagement and environment. Also considered were more than 200,000 student survey responses on topics such as the difficulty of classes, ease of collaboration with classmates, application of course material to the real world, and more.
