Seven LAS Undergraduates Awarded Gilman Study Abroad Scholarships
A total of seven students from the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences have been awarded Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarships for the fall 2014 academic year. The students, whose majors range from biological sciences to the teaching of English, will spend a semester studying abroad in various countries around the world. The total awarded fund for the collective scholarships is $27,500. The winners are as follows:
- Debbie Patino, a psychology major, will study in Indonesia this autumn through the Study Abroad Office.
- Angelica Arzuaga, a biological sciences major, will study in Argentina this autumn through the Office of International Affairs.
- Elliot Fowlks, a teaching of English major, will spend the 2014-2015 academic year in Japan through the Office of International Affairs.
- Sergio Cueto, a Latin American & Latino Studies major, will study in Costa Rica this autumn through the Study Abroad Office.
- Megan Vazquez, a criminology, law & justice major will study in Holland this autumn through the Study Abroad Office.
- Rosemarie Dominguez, a psychology and Latin American & Latinodouble-major, will study this autumn in Brazil through the Study Abroad Office.
- Matthew Cunningham, a biological sciences major, will spend the 2014-2015 academic year in Fiji through the Study Abroad Office.
