Sarah Buchmeier Wins Newcombe Award

PhD candidate Sarah Buchmeier has been named a Charlotte W. Newcombe Doctoral Dissertation Fellow in 2019 by the Woodrow Wilson National Fellowship Foundation. The largest and most prestigious such award, the Newcombe recognizes work in the social sciences and humanities addressing ethical and religious values.  It is intended to support the recipient's work through the final year of writing with a $25,000 annual stipend.

Sarah's project is entitled Quarrels without God: Ninetheenth Century Literature in the Age of Secularism. She joins 22 other 2019 Newcombe Fellows. Congratulations, Sarah!
