Prof Daniel Borzutzky and Alum Gina Frangello on CHIRBy Shortlist
Associate Professor Daniel Borzutzky and recent PhD program alumna Gina Frangello have been named to the Chicago Review of Books 2021 CHIRBy Awards shortlists for poetry and nonfiction, respectively. Borzutzky's Written After A Massacre in the Year 2018 and Frangello's Blow Your House Down: A Story of Family, Feminism, and Treason were the works that garnered this honor.
The CHIRBy Awards will be presented on December 9, 2021, in a virtual ceremony. Sponsored by StoryStudio Chicago and the Chicago Review of Books, the virtual fundraising ceremony honoring the “literary gold” writers of Chicago will be hosted by Jenn White, an award-winning journalist and host of NPR's podcast 1A.
