About
Kate Sjostrom is a Senior Lecturer and Associate Director in English Education whose research and teaching focus on writing pedagogy. She is a frequent conference presenter on writing education, as well as a frequent collaborator with high school writing teachers in the Chicago area. Dr. Sjostrom's creative and scholarly work has appeared in RHINO, Southern Poetry Review, English Journal, Teaching/Writing, and elsewhere, and her co-edited collection, Unsettling Education, won a 2021 Outstanding Book Award from the Society of Professors of Education. She has been awarded both a Lecturer Distinguished Teaching Award for English Studies and an Honoring our Professors’ Excellence (HOPE) Award.
