Dan Magers’s first book of poems, Partyknife, (Birds, LLC) is described by Thurston Moore “as if poet-ghost adrift thru dressing rooms backstage taking notes…Writing poems like these is just as good as starting a band.”  Magers is the founder of the online poetry journal Sink Review. His fiction and poetry has been published in Notre Dame ReviewHyperallergicVice, the Pen America blog, Barrelhouse, and others. His current project is a novel; he lives in Chicago.

Magers's research and teaching interests include creative writing (poetry and fiction); 21st century American literature (particularly U.S. Latinx literature and poetics informed by Black Studies); British Romanticism and the history of the English novel; First Year Writing.
